The Garden City Telegram

Thankful for helpful gesture

While on my way from Liberal to Garden City to attend a meeting, I had a blowout south of Sublette. The first person who stopped to help me was Sheena Colcher, a hairdresser at Tammy & Co., in Garden City. While we were attempting to change the tire, two gentlemen, Dwain Murphy and Jason Mead who work for the Kansas Department of Transportation in Garden, stopped and changed the tire. I'm so glad I live in southwest Kansas — home of the friendliest people in the world. The Liberal Chamber gives a "Friendliest Employee of the Month" award to our local

employees who go above and beyond at their jobs — and I would say these three wonderful people qualify. Thank you Sheena, Dwain and Jason -- it's people like you that make Garden City and southwest Kansas a great place to live.
