Pinwheels on the northeast corner of Kansas Avenue and Fleming Street are whipped around in a 40-50 mph north wind

Tuesday. The pinwheels are for a Kansas Children’s Service League Pinwheels for Prevention program. Gusts up to 40 mph were

expected overnight by the National Weather Service in Dodge City. No major precipitation was expected, though freezing rain

and sleet were expected in a line east of U.S. Highway 283, with the storm moving northeast. Today's weather is expected to

be a mix of rain and snow, with a high of 40 degrees. Clouds are expected to clear up Thursday, with temperatures as high as

55 degrees.
