Firemen 'Care Enough to Wear Pink'

Becky Malewitz/Telegram Garden City Fire Department’s Lt. James Southern, Jose Seijas, Lt. Jason Bennett, James Daily and Jeremy Kemp wear pink T-shirts as part of their chapter of the Pink Heals Tour, a national nonprofit organization supporting women and raising awareness for the fight against breast cancer. The fire department is selling the T-shirts to raise money to go toward fighting cancer in the Garden City community. Profits are currently earmarked to go toward the purchase of two digital mammography machines at St. Catherine Hospital. Shirts are $20 each and can be ordered through the Central Fire Station. Those who purchase shirts are encouraged to wear them Oct. 25 through 27, which has been proclaimed as
