The Finney County Genealogical Society will meet from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the Kansas Room at the Finney County Public Library, 605 E. Walnut St.

Stanley Smith will present the program "The Western Cattle Trail."

Visitors are welcome.

Senior center pinochle

Peggy Phipps won high in the three tables of senior center pinochle played March 6 at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St. Donna Preston took second place. Third went to Lois Towns.

Sherlock Strivers 4-H

The Sherlock Strivers 4-H Club met March 3 at Holcomb Elementary School with 13 members answering roll call by saying what they want to be when they grow up. Eight parents were present.

After a brief business meeting, several members gave project talks. Katelyn Hammond made "Cat in the Hat" treats, Willy Haas talked about different types of welding, Katie Mongeau explained the pros and cons of disbudding goats, and Kayla George showed how to make Valentine Cookie Jars.

The next meeting will be April 7 in the cafeteria of Holcomb Elementary School.

Senior center pitch

Charlotte Kimsey won high in the three tables of senior center pitch played Tuesday at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St. Second place went to Donna Preston. Lois Towns took third.

Kourageous Kids 4-H

Liz Marcy and her dog, Brady, showed the Kourageous Kids 4-H Club some important dog care tips at the club meeting Sunday. Brady is a 5-month-old Shih-Tzu and likes a lot of toys and needs attention. Liz is in the dog project.

Roll call was answered by four members and two guests telling their plans for spring break and sharing something good that happened to them last month.

Mary Lynn Buchele invited club members to record public service announcements for National Volunteer Week. Club community service projects were Bake Take, where members bake an item and take it to someone. Before the meeting, members wrote letters to the club's adopted soldier. The recreation committee report was to lead a game of hot-potato.

The leader reported that Liz Marcy received a purple award at regional Club Day on March 2.

Members were encouraged to sign up online for Photo Camp and Discovery Days.

The club is planning a trip to Splatter-Works on April 20.

The next meeting is set for April 21 at the grandstand meeting room at the Finney County Fairgrounds.

Charlotte Kimsey won high in the three tables of senior center double pinochle played Monday at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St. Bob Ellis took second place. Jeanette Taylor and Carol Bradford tied for third.
