SPORTS: Garden City HS teams playoff times change

Some dates and times have changed for the upcoming Class 6A regional playoffs for several Garden City High School spring sports teams.

The Lady Buffs soccer team's regional semifinal has been changed to Tuesday at 5 p.m. against Wichita North. The game had been tentatively set for Monday. The game will be played at Buffalo Stadium.

GCHS' girls softball team will host the 6A regional on Wednesday and play Dodge City at 3:45 p.m. at the Tangeman Sports Complex. In the opening semifinal, it will be Derby facing Wichita Southeast. The two winners will play in the championship game at 5:30 p.m. with the winner earning a berth in the state tournament on May 23-24 at Blue Valley West High School in Overland Park.

The Buffs' boys baseball team will travel to Wichita East and play at 2 p.m. Tuesday in a semifinal contest. Campus and Derby meet in the 3:45 semifinal with the winners playing for the championship at 5:30 p.m. The winner moves on to the state tournament May 23-24 at the University of Kansas in Lawrence.

GCHS' boys golf team will be in Wichita on Monday for the 6A regional at Reflection Ridge Golf Club. The state tournament is May 20 at Meadowbrook Country Club in Overland Park.

The Buffs' boys and girls track teams travel to Dodge City on Friday for the 6A regional. The state track meet is May 24-25 at Wichita State University's Cessna Stadium.

The GCHS girls swimming team will have at least one relay team and possibly two others and one individual competing in the 6A state meet on Friday and Saturday at the Hummer Sports Complex in Topeka.
