Southwest Kansas Sixth Grade Honor Band clinic: For students from various area communities, concluding with a free public concert at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Pauline Joyce Fine Arts Building at Garden City Community College, 801 Campus Drive. Free admission to concert.


"Rare: Portraits Of America's Endangered Species": New exhibit featuring North American species facing extinction, on display through April 14 at Stauth Memorial Museum, 111 N. Aztec in Montezuma. To schedule groups of five or more, call in advance at (620) 846-2527 for information or to set up a tour. Museum hours are 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free, but donations are accepted.


African American Read In: Featuring works by African-American authors read aloud as part of Black History Month, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the portico of the Beth Tedrow Student Center at Garden City Community College, 801 Campus Drive. Free admission.


Musical variety program: Featuring "The Half Fast Singers" directed by Dr. Mark Neuman, 7 p.m. at Garden Valley Retirement Village, 1505 E. Spruce St. The public is encouraged to attend at no charge. For more information, call 275-5036.

"Sweet Indulgence": Third Annual Spirit of the Plains, CASA benefit auction at the Clarion Inn, 1911 E. Kansas Ave., with the silent auction beginning at 6 p.m. and the live auction starting at 7:45 p.m. Hors d'oeuvres and chocolate fountain served throughout the evening. Live entertainment by "Ask Vinnie." Advance tickets are $25, or $30 at the door. Tickets are available at the Clarion Inn. Casual dress, tax-deductible donation.

Hours at the Finney County Health Department, 919 Zerr Road, are 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Friday hours are 8 a.m. to noon.
