TODAY, OCT. 27

Walk Whoa Benefit Dance and Auction: Miles of Smiles fundraiser begins at 6:30 p.m. with a social hour and hors d'oeuvres at the Clarion Inn Ballroom, 1911 E. Kansas Ave., followed by a dance and auction at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 at the door or $15 in advance. Tickets are available at Garden True Value, 1615 Taylor Plaza; Crazy House, 3502 N. Campus Drive; or Baker Boot Co., 211 W. Kansas Ave.

Halloween event: Garden City Family YMCA's free family event from 7 to 9 p.m. at 1224 Center St., will feature snacks, drinks, games, crafts, prizes, inflatables, swimming and more. Western Kansas Antique and Crafts Festival: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Finney County Exhibition Building, 409 Lake Ave.

TUESDAY, OCT. 30

Musical variety program: Featuring the music group "House Blend" presenting a moderate bluegrass style applied to gospel and folk music, under the direction of Gale Seibert, 7 p.m. at Garden Valley Retirement Village, 1505 E. Spruce St. The public is encouraged to attend at no charge.

"The Dust Bowl": A two-part PBS film by Ken Burns shown at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday at the Finney County Historical Museum, 403 S. Fourth St. Attendees are invited to bring photos to share.

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 31

"Light the Night with Jesus": Free event featuring activities, games, prizes, food, fun and fellowship for sharing the light of Jesus, 6 to 8 p.m. at Church of the Brethren, 505 N. Eighth St. For more information, call 276-7391 or visit www.gardencitycob.org.

Hours at the Finney County Health Department, 919 Zerr Road, are 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Friday hours are 8 a.m. to noon.
