Singles dance: Featuring "Ortiz Band" from 7 to 10:30 p.m. at the Eagles Lodge, U.S. Highway 83 and Mary Street. Sponsored by Garden City Singles, the dance is open to the public. People attending must be age 21 or older.

MONDAY, JAN. 21

Martin Luther King Day program: Featuring Chuck D, political activist, author and co-founder of noted rap group Public Enemy, 10 a.m. at the main gym in the Dennis Perryman Athletic Complex at Garden City Community College, 801 Campus Drive. Free admission.

TUESDAY, JAN. 22

Musical variety program: Featuring the music group "Kearny County Road Runners" of Lakin, directed by Curtis Young, 7 p.m. at Garden Valley Retirement Village, 1505 E. Spruce St. For more information, call 275-5036.

Musical program: Featuring "The Abrams Brothers," a Canadian trio of teenagers, 7:30 p.m. in Clifford Hope Auditorium at Horace J. Good Middle School, 1412 N. Main St. This is a performance in the Southwest Kansas Live On Stage season membership. Individual tickets are $25 for adults and $6 for students. Calf fry dinner: The Sons of the American Legion Squad No. 9, Post 9 will have its calf fry dinner from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the American Legion, 405 S. Main St. The menu will include calf fries, chicken and noodles, ham, roast beef, salad with all the fixin's, coffee and tea at a cost of $8 for adults, $5 for children age 8 to 13 and free to children younger than 7. Open to the public.

Musical program: Featuring "The Humdingers," 7 p.m. at Homestead Assisted Living, 2414 N. Henderson St. The public is encouraged to attend at no charge.
