Jessica Myers and Nathan Funk, both of Ewing, Neb., were married Aug. 31, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church in Garden City. The 5 p.m. ceremony was officiated by the Rev. David Bell.
Parents of the couple are Craig and Ann Myers of Garden City; and Pete and Karen Funk of Ewing. The bride's grandmothers are Ione Toll of Lindsborg; and Carolyn Myers of Colorado Springs, Colo. Grandparents of the groom are Rita Funk and Richard Kurpgeweit, both of Ewing.
Kerri Homan, the bride's sister from Papillion, Neb., was the matron of honor. Other attendants were Audra Hoffman of Lawrence; Erin Koksal of Denver; Danelle Groth of Satanta; and Joseph Jennings of Topeka.
The best man was Travis Funk, the groom's brother from Ewing. Groomsmen were T.C. Doyle of Denver; Jeff Blair of Gretna, Neb.; Mark Steskal of Muscatine, Iowa; and Nolan Johnson of Buffalo, N.Y.
Serving as ushers were Brett Myers, the bride's brother from Lawrence; Jared Kruntorad of Norfolk, Neb.; and Nicholas Hald of Scottsbluff, Neb.
The ringbearer was Asher Whiting, the groom's nephew. Scripture was read by Betsey Sexton of McKinney, Texas. Erin Koksal read a poem she had penned for the couple.
Musician for the ceremony was Tammy Bunney of Garden City. Programs were distributed by Emily Kurpgeweit, the groom's cousin. Bubbles were handed out by Gavin Whiting, the groom's nephew; and Madison and Samantha Tidgewell, the bride's cousins.
A dinner reception and outdoor dance followed at The Golf Club at Southwind. Hosts were the bride's uncle and aunts, Tom and Kathy Toll of Lindsborg; and Deidre Myers of Alexandria, Va.
The guest book and gift table were attended by Riley and Sammie Funk of Ewing, and Emily Leichner of Omaha, Neb., all cousins of the groom.
