Senior center double pinochle

Neva Maxfield and Charles Maxfield tied for high in the four tables of senior center double pinochle played Monday at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St. Maybelle Bowen took second place. Third went to Bob Ellis.

Duplicate bridge

The Garden City Duplicate Bridge Club played a Howell movement Sunday afternoon, with 35 games succeeding, including five slams. Dorothy Bartlett and Janet Jenkins took first place, one-half point over Therin and Diane Woolwine.

The regular Monday night session gave up only 23 games and two slams out of 28 boards. Wen Wurst and Jon Craig scored a first-place win. May Craig and Jon Kempton held second place. Fifty-two percent games tied Gerry Schultz and Jerry Soldner with Jenkins and Irene Bryant for third/fourth place.

Tuesday afternoon's session became a sort of slam-fest as 14 were bid though just eight succeeded. Eighteen games filled out the session. Roger Morris and Bartlett took first place, a single point over Virginia Enslow and Kempton.

Regular games begin at 7 p.m. Monday, 1:15 p.m. Tuesday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St., with all bridge players welcome. For partners, call Kempton at 276-2876.

Senior center pinochle

Donna Preston won high in the four tables of senior center pinochle played Wednesday at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St. Second place went to Leonard Yardley. Isabel Finch placed third.
