Senior center double pinochle

Delores Atchinson and Mary Joseph tied for high in the two tables of senior center double pinochle played Monday at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St. Second place went to Peggy Phipps. Donna Preston took third.

Happy Hustlers 4-H

A Christmas celebration took place at the Dec. 1 meeting of the Happy Hustlers 4-H Club. The 4-H'ers and parents enjoyed a soup supper and dessert before the meeting. Roll call was answered by 11 members naming a family favorite Christmas tradition.

Members were asked to think of a theme for the 2014 year. The club plans to participate in 4-H Club Days and the Honor Flight chili feed which is Feb. 15. Money was earned by working at the Finney County Fair concession stand.

An ornament exchange with a Christmas story was done for recreation. Birthday honorees were Wyatt Gigot, Rian Linenberger, Abby Murrell and Symone Simmons.

At the Nov. 3 meeting, Maddy Schreibvogel was welcomed as a new member. Rayenah Bergstrom gave the treasurer's report, noting that the club collected money for winning second place in the Beef Empire Days Parade.

Abby Murrell showed how to make fancy notebooks. Gracie Kraft gave the citizenship tip on how to give back during any holiday. Macy Baier was the guest and birthday honoree.

The next meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the 4-H Building.
