Dale and Pam Barnum of Ozawkie announce the engagement of their daughter, Charity, to Samuel Deutch. He is the son of Drs. Neal and Michelle Deutch of Overland Park.

The bride-to-be graduated from Garden City High School, earned an associates degree from Barton County Community College, a bachelor's degree from Oklahoma State University and a master's degree from the University of Central Oklahoma. She is employed by the Veteran's Administration in Buffalo, N.Y.

Her fiancee earned bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Kansas and attends State University of New York as a Ph.D. candidate.

They plan to marry in the summer of 2013.
