Finney County Humane Society adoption event: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Tractor Supply in Garden City. The group's "Date & Dine" give-away tickets will be available during the event and also are available at the animal shelter on Fleming Street and at Davis Designs in downtown Garden City. The drawing will take place Feb. 9.

MONDAY, JAN. 28

65th Annual Pawnee Fry: 6:30 p.m. at the Pawnee Acre Community Building located four miles north and three miles east of the U.S.-156 and K-23 junction in northeast Finney County, featuring a meal that includes calf fries, ham sandwiches and all the trimmings, plus a "Cowboy Poetry" featured program with Leonard Hitz and Company. Hours at the Finney County Health Department, 919 Zerr Road, are 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Friday hours are 8 a.m. to noon.
