Wedding: Evans-Heddlesten

Lacey Kay Evans and Melvin Wesley Heddlesten III were married May 30, 2009, at Cornerstone Community Church in Garden City, in a ceremony officiated by Kellen Eberling, pastor.

Parents of the couple are Bryan and Terri Evans of Gove; and Mel and Susan Heddlesten of Satana. Grandparents are Rex and Verda Albin of Quinter; Larry and Bonnie Evans of Gove; Mary and the late John Martin of Las Cruces, N.M.; and Joan and the late Melvin Heddlesten of Satanta.

Maid of honor was Ashley Evans, while matron of honor was Jayme Zimmerman. Both are sisters of the bride. Lindsey Chichester and Jennifer Schultz were bridesmaids.

Les Heddlesten, brother of the groom, was best man. Joseph Tunis and Brian Roberts served as groomsmen.

Ushers were Thomas Zimmerman and Josh and Logan Middleton.

Candlelighters were Staci Wedermyer and Suzanne Ryan.

Guest book and program attendants were Karen Blackburn and Denise Voth, cousins of the bride; and Kelsey Blevins.

A wedding reception, dinner and dance were held at the Fiesta Courtyard, with Kirby and Donna Gillespie as hosts.

The bride is a graduate of Quinter High School, Fort Scott Community College, Kansas State University and West Texas A&M. She is employed by the USDA as an agriculture marketing specialist.

The groom is a graduate of Satana High School, Clarendon Community College and Texas Tech University. He is employed by the USDA in the meat grading service.

After a honeymoon trip to Maine, the couple are living in Garden City.
