8-Ball Tournament
The team of Jess Arteaga and Jacob Farr took first place at the 8-Ball Tournament Tuesday at the Senior Center of Finney County. Second place went to Diana Farr and David Gill. Gill was the winner of the 7-11 prize.
The pool room at the Senior Center, 907 N. 10th St., is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday. Anyone age 55 and older is invited to come and play. An 8-Ball Tournament is played from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. each Tuesday and is open to anyone age 45 and older.
Senior Center pinochle
Jeanette Taylor won high in the four tables of Senior Center pinochle played Wednesday at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St. Second place went to Lois Towns. Donna Preston took third.

Duplicate bridge
The Garden City Duplicate Bridge Club welcomed Jody and Mark Neuman to the March 1 session as eight teams competed in a 28 board Howell movement. The strong competition produced 16 no-trump games, 19 games in suits, five small slams and one grand slam. A 64 percent game rewarded May Craig and Jon Kempton in a first-place spot, with Jon Craig and Wen Wurst taking second with their 59 percent game. Diane Woolwine and Shirley Klotz maintained third place by a single point over Helen Lee and Linda Adams.
Regular games begin at 7 p.m. today and 1:15 p.m. Tuesday at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St., plus newly sanctioned games begin at 2 p.m. on the second, third and fourth Sundays, with all bridge players welcome. For partners, call Kempton at 276-2876.
AL vice commander to visit
American Legion Post No. 9, led by Commander Don Nevin, will act as host for National Vice Commander Eugene Schumacher of Aberdeen, S.D., on his four-day tour of Kansas, kicking off with a luncheon at 12:10 p.m. Tuesday at 125 W. Pine. There is no charge for the meal, which will be prepared by the post's Auxiliary.
American Legion members, guests and the general public are invited to hear him speak on Legion programs and issues concerning veterans and the nation.
An Air Force veteran of the Vietnam era, Schumacher has been a legionnaire for 43 years. He has held numerous leadership positions at the post, state and national levels.
Kansas Department Commander Dave Thomas and Vice Commander John Thomas will accompany Schumacher on his membership tour of 20 American Legion posts.
