Lynn and Gail Dunford of Garden City announce the engagement of their daughter, Claire Elizabeth Dunford, to Daniel John Shaver. He is the son of Edward and Marilyn Shaver of St. Louis.

Lynn and Gail Dunford of Garden City announce the engagement of their daughter, Claire Elizabeth Dunford, to Daniel John Shaver. He is the son of Edward and Marilyn Shaver of St. Louis.

The bride-to-be graduated from Garden City High School in 2005 and earned a bachelor's degree in communication sciences and disorders from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Mo., in 2009 and a master's degree in communication sciences and disorders from Rockhurst University in 2011. She is a speech-language pathologist with Aegis Therapies at Shirkey Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Richmond, Mo.

Her fiancee graduated from St. Louis University High School in 2006 and earned a bachelor's degree in philosophy from Rockhurst University in 2010 and a bachelor's degree in mathematics and secondary education from Rockhurst University in 2010. He is a mathematics teacher and head varsity soccer coach at Bishop Ward High School, Kansas City, Kan.

They plan to marry April 27, 2013, at St. Francis Xavier Church, Kansas City, Mo.
