Engagement: Woodside-Marquez

Alan and Sherry Woodside of Prairie View announce the engagement of their daughter, Serena Woodside, to Ricardo Marquez. He is the son of Manuel and Maria Marquez of Garden City.

The bride-to-be graduated from Kansas State University with a master's degree in special education and a bachelor's degree in elementary education. She is employed by Geary County Schools as a fourth-grade teacher.

Her fiancee graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelor's degree in social sciences. He is employed in Manhattan and works in consumer finance.

They plan to marry March 19, 2013, in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. A reception in Manhattan will follow on April 13, 2013.
