The Garden City High School volleyball team is sponsoring the Sixth Annual Dig Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Rally on Thursday.

The team would like to invite all community members to the event,

which begins at 4 p.m. at GCHS, 2720 Buffalo Way Blvd. The GCHS varsity

and junior varsity volleyball players will take part by wearing pink

uniforms to show their support.

Dig Pink attendees can watch the GCHS volleyball teams compete

against Ulysses, Scott City and Dodge City and are encouraged to wear

pink to show their support in the stands.

Before, during and after the volleyball matches, there will be many

special events, such as a Survivor/Memory Walk at about 6 p.m.

Those who would like someone recognized at the walk can email Tami Maynard at tmaynard@gckschools.com.

Other activities include a silent auction and raffle items donated by

local businesses. All donations from the raffle, silent auction and

T-shirt sales will be donated locally to The Breast Center at St.

Catherine Hospital.
