This week, I will continue brief reviews of two more of the services and activities that are available at the Senior Center of Finney County. Whether you are new to our center or new to the area, I hope you find this information useful.

Activities

We offer a wide variety of games and activities at the senior center.

Every day, we have groups playing a variety of card games, including pinochle, pitch, bridge, double pinochle and SkipBo. We always have at least one or two jigsaw puzzles that seniors are working on. We have a billiards room with several tables for Snooker and 8 ball. Along with billiards, we have a couple of tables set up for domino players. We also have many board games that you can play: Qwerkle, Clue, Monopoly, Uno and Scrabble are just a few.

We offer exercise classes two or three different times every day. Those include everything from a Gentle Exercise program to Zumba and yoga. Call Patti or Della at 272-3620 for more information. Also, see our list of activities at the end of this article.

Medical services

We have a nurse from St. Catherine Hospital here every Friday morning to help seniors with regular health monitoring, such as blood pressure checks, blood sugar, pulse, oxygen levels, weight and health counseling.

We also offer a monthly foot clinic at the Senior Center. The clinic is staffed by nurses who will evaluate your feet and also do some minor foot care. Please call Della at 272-3620 to schedule a foot care appointment for March or April.
