Senior center cards

Coleen Rupp won high in the three tables of pitch played Tuesday at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St. Sheryl Holiman took second place. Third went to Albert Spor.

In the two tables of double pinochle played Monday, Spor won high, Bob Ellis was second, and John Bunnell placed third.

Sherlock Strivers 4-H

The Sherlock Strivers 4-H Club met Sunday, with the foods project members hosting the meeting by providing a taco bar. After the meal, the meeting took place, drawing 25 members and 17 adults.

Officers gave reports, the members discussed community service projects and were reminded to get their Livestock Declaration Forms, if needed, and that fair entries will be online again this year.

Upcoming events include the 4-H Petting Zoo on June 30 at the Finney County Public Library. Members can take their animals or projects to show the community.

The Southwest Spectacular Horse Show will be July 7 in the Grandstand Arena. Members were informed of poultry testing set for June 19. Also, members gave their T-shirt sizes to leaders for the Finney County Fair shirts.

This meeting also was the Club Tour. Several members presented projects or information about their projects. 

June birthdays were celebrated. Members then planted plants and decorated pots to be taken to Homestead Assisted Living.

The next meeting will be July 1 at Holcomb Elementary School.
