Senior center cards
Alva Burch won high in the four tables of pitch played Tuesday at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St. Second place went to Elvin Hazen. Bob Ellis placed third.
In the two tables of pinochle played Monday, Bob Baker won high, Jerry Wallace was second, and John Bunnell took third.
Ellis won high in the two tables of pinochle played April 25. Maybelle Bowen took second place. Third went to Baker.
The William Wilson Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution met April 18, with one guest in attendance.
Frances O’Brate gave the program, “The Other Woman At The Tomb,” and also gave the National Committee report. Dixie Drake gave the president general’s message and read some invitations for the DAR Chapter to attend. Carley Hazelton presented the national defense report.
Community service awards were put on hold until the next meeting. Volunteer hours were reported. Scholarships and JROTC were discussed.
The next meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m. May 16 at Garden Valley Retirement Village, 1505 E. Spruce St.
