American Legion officers elected

Harry H. Renick American Legion Post 9 officers for 2018-19 were elected Monday.

Serving her fourth year as Commander is Donna Hernandez. Other officers for the coming year are Adjutant Jim Arwine, First Vice Commander Tom Dial, 2nd Vice Commander John Mowery, Finance Officer Ray Heinemann, Service Officer Jennifer Trizicky and Chaplain Don Heili.

Also moving into leadership positions are Sergeant-At-Arms John Linenberger, Historian Eppy Garcia, Judge Advocate Barbara Larsen and Club Committee Chairman Tom Howard.

 

Senior center cards

Bob Ellis won high in the three tables of pitch played Tuesday at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St. J.D. Farr took second place. Maybelle Bowen placed third.

In the two tables of pinochle played Monday, Mary Wilson won high, Becky Young was second, and Bowen took third.

John Bunnell won high in the two tables of pinochle played March 28. Bowen placed second. Third went to Ruth Dunlap.

 

Happy Hustlers 4-H

The Happy Hustlers 4-H Club met March 4 at Community Congregational Church. For roll call, members named the team they were going for in the NCAA Tournament. 

The club’s food project kids prepared a potato bar for the club members and their families to enjoy.

There was no program presented. The club celebrated leader Barb Goss’ birthday by singing “Happy Birthday” and giving her flowers.

The next meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. Sunday in the 4-H building.
