Are you struggling to pay all your health care premiums? Maybe this will help you. Medicare Savings Programs help pay your Medicare costs if you have limited finances. There are three main programs, and each has different income eligibility limits.
1) Qualified Medicare Beneficiary: Pays for Medicare Part A and B premiums, deductibles and coinsurance or co-pays. If you have QMB, you should have no Medicare coinsurance or copayment for Medicare-covered services you get from doctors who participate in Medicare, or who are in your Medicare private health plan’s network. Income limits are $1,025 for a single person or $1,373 for a couple.
2) Low-Income Medicare Beneficiary: Pays for the Medicare Part B premium. Income limits for a single person is $1,226 or $1,644 for a couple.
3) Expanded Low-Income Beneficiary: Pays for the Medicare Part B premium. Income limits are $1,377 for a single person and $1,847 for a couple.
Asset limits for all three programs are $7,390 for a single person or $11,090 for a couple.
The senior center has applications for these programs. To pick up an application, come by the senior center at 907 N. 10th St.

Saturday: The pool room is open from 1 to 4 p.m.
Sunday: Duplicate bridge, 2 p.m.
Monday: Double pinochle, 12:30 p.m.; EnhanceFitness, 2 p.m.; strength training, 4 p.m.; duplicate bridge, 7 p.m.
Tuesday: Walking, 9 a.m. at Walmart; gentle exercise, 11 a.m.; Mardi Gras celebration, 11:30 a.m. with King’s Cake; pitch, 12:30 p.m.; bridge, 1:15 p.m.; yoga, 6 p.m.
Feb. 14: Line dancing, 8:30 a.m.; Completely Unraveled, 9:30 a.m.; pinochle, 12:30 p.m.; EnhanceFitness, 2 p.m.; dance featuring “Dream Land,” 7:30 p.m. (recommended donation is $5).
Lunch is served at noon.
Thursday: Chicken Kiev, baked potato with fixin’s, cauliflower, orange.
Friday: Potato-crusted cod, cheddar mashed potatoes, peas and carrots, fruit.
Monday: Ham and cheese scrambled eggs, sausage links, hash brown potatoes, blueberry muffin, grapes.
Tuesday: Tater tot casserole, green beans, pickled beets, corn muffin, fruit.
Feb. 14: Homemade chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, carrots, fruit.
