“Afternoon Delight — Shop Downtown With Your Sweetie”: The event will feature Valentine's specials, drawings and more, plus shoppers can enter to win the grand prize, a romance basket filled with downtown gift certificates and merchandise (a $300 value) at participating stores, 1 to 5 p.m. in downtown Garden City.


Musical program: Featuring "The Mennonite Singers," 7 p.m. at Homestead Assisted Living, 2414 N. Henderson St. Open to the public at no charge.

Musical variety program: Featuring the music group "Too Many Strings" from Garden City, directed by Debra Bolton, 7 p.m. at Garden Valley Retirement Village, 1505 E. Spruce St. Open to the public at no charge.

Brown Bag Lunch: Opening program focusing on homesteading in Kansas, noon in the meeting room of the Finney County Museum, 403 S. Fourth St. (enter via the north entrance). Beverages and homemade desserts provided; bring your own lunch. Free admission. For more information, call (620) 272-3664.


Valentine’s concert: Featuring the College Singers and the Concert Choir of Garden City Community College, 7:30 p.m. in the Pauline Joyce Auditorium at GCCC. Free admission.


“Love is in the Air” Valentine's Dinner Show: Presented by the Garden City High School Modern Show Choir, the event will include a tri-tip steak dinner and trimmings, along with a dessert table. The cost is $30, individual; $50, couple; and guests can reserve a table for eight for $250. Doors will open at 6 p.m. in the Commons Area at the school, 2720 Buffalo Way Blvd., with the show beginning at 6:30 p.m. For reservations, call Jessica Dirks at (620) 640-1594.
