SUNDAY, JAN. 14

Musical program: High Plains Country Music Fiddlers, Pickers and Singers monthly program at the Memorial Building on Main Street in Lakin (weather permitting). Sign-up will begin at 1 p.m., with the program starting at 2 p.m. All area musicians are welcome to join in. There will be a short break for snacks. Feel free to bring a snack to share. TUESDAY, JAN. 16

Musical program: Featuring "The Road Runners," 7 p.m. at Homestead Assisted Living, 2414 N. Henderson St. Open to the public at no charge.

Musical variety program: Featuring the music group "The Double D's," 7 p.m. at Garden Valley Retirement Village, 1505 E. Spruce St. Open to the public at no charge.

Evening at the Museum: Featuring “Firearms of the Old West” by Lary Cole, 7 p.m. in the meeting room of the Finney County Historical Museum, 403 S. Fourth St. Admission is free, with dessert and beverages provided. Those who attend should use the north entrance of the museum and are welcome to bring their own dinner, if desired.

THURSDAY, JAN. 18

Kitchen Therapy: Featuring cooking demonstrations and tips on ways to choose the healthiest ingredients, make food more appealing and spark appetites, noon at Heartland Cancer Center, 410 E. Spruce St. The free program is open to the public, but registration is requested by calling Viry Dummermuth at (620) 765-1443.

Coffee with Caregivers: To share support and experiences, ask questions and be with others who share concerns about caring for loved ones with cancer, 7 to 8 p.m. at Patrick Dugan's Coffee House, 301 N. Main St. RVSP to Becky Alexander at (620) 290-2065.

Musical program: Featuring "Classic 3+1 Piano Man," 7 p.m. at Homestead Assisted Living, 2414 N. Henderson St. Open to the public at no charge.

Dance: Featuring “The Ortiz Band,” 8 p.m. to midnight at the Eagles, 2603 N. Taylor. Open to the public, admission is $10 per person.

Musical program: Featuring "Coat of Many Colors," 6:15 p.m. at Homestead Assisted Living, 2414 N. Henderson St. Open to the public at no charge.

 

Health Department and WIC

Hours at the Finney County Health Department, 919 Zerr Road, and WIC are 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday; closed on Friday.
