Veterans Day Parade: Beginning at 10 a.m. on Main Street in downtown Garden City, followed by a ceremony and community hamburger feed at American Legion Post 9, 405 S. Main St., at about 11:15 a.m. There will be a fireworks display at 6:30 p.m. at the Finney County Fairgrounds parking lot.

"The Wizard of Oz — A Modern Retelling": Presented by Steps Dance School of Garden City, 6 p.m. today and 3 p.m. Sunday at Clifford Hope Auditorium, 1412 N. Main St. Tickets are $10 for adults (age 11 and older) and $6 for children (age 10 and younger). For tickets, visit https://goo.gl/Gsd1tW.

Annual Thanksgiving Dinner: For members and guests of The Fraternal Order of Eagles and Eagles Auxiliary of Wheatland Aerie 3124, 6:30 p.m. at the Eagles Lodge, 2306 N. Taylor Ave. Bring a side dish, salad or dessert. Cost is $5 per person.

Musical program: Old-fashioned Hymn Sing Sunday, 1 p.m. at Homestead Assisted Living, 2414 N. Henderson St. Open to the public at no charge.

Musical program: High Plains Country Music Fiddlers, Pickers and Singers monthly program at the Memorial Building on Main Street in Lakin. Sign-up will begin at 1 p.m., with the program starting at 2 p.m. All area musicians are welcome to join in. There will be a short break for snacks. Feel free to bring a snack to share. Coffee With A Cop: An opportunity for police officers and community members to discuss issues, 9:30 a.m. in the dining area at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St.

Holiday Home Tours: 1 to 5 p.m. in Garden City, featuring the homes of Aaron Kucharik, Joe and Debbie Moss, and Ron and Dawn Oberheim, plus tablescapes at Sunnyland and a preview of the Fantasy Tree Festival at the Clarion Inn & Conference Center. Tickets are $15, which includes the home tours, the tree festival preview and refreshments at Ward’s Garden Cafe from 2 to 5 p.m. Tickets are available at Russell Child Development Center, Clarion Inn, Dillon’s, The Corner on Main, Ward’s Garden Cafe, plus First National Bank in Ulysses, and Gifts, Etc. in Scott City.

Fantasy Tree Festival: Auction preview from 1 to 5 p.m., hors d’oeuvres from 6 to 7:30 p.m., silent auction from 6 to 9 p.m., a welcome and program at 6:45 p.m. and the live auction at 7 p.m. at the Clarion Inn & Conference Center, 1911 E. Kansas Ave. Tickets are $40 each or two for $75 and are available at the same locations as listed for the Holiday Home Tours. Finney County Genealogical Society: 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the meeting room at the Finney County Historical Society Museum, 403 S. Fourth St. (use the north door entrance). Visitors welcome.
