Mara Daile Sloan and Benjamin Boroughs were married Sept. 2, 2017, in Charleston, S.C.
The bride’s parents are Elise Sloan of St. Augustine Beach, Fla.; and Mark Sloan and Michelle Van Parys of Charleston. Her grandparents are the late Brig. General Edwin and Elizabeth Heffelfinger; and the late William and Ruth Sloan.
Parents of the groom are Bryan and Diana Boroughs of Cimarron. His grandparents are Dr. Horace and Beth Van Cleave of Cimarron; and James and Marilyn Boroughs of Canton, Texas.
Ben graduated from Cimarron High School in 2005, earned a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University in 2009 and a master’s degree from George Washington University in 2012. He is employed by the Foreign Agricultural Service, USDA and is awaiting an overseas assignment as a Foreign Service Officer for USDA FAS.
Mara graduated from Duncan U. Fletcher High School in Neptune Beach, Fla., in 2004, and earned bachelor’s degrees from the University of Florida in 2008. She is employed by the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee.
The newlyweds are at home in Washington, D.C.
