Medicare Part D open enrollment is starting soon. It runs from Oct. 15 until Dec. 7 and is the time of the year when you can change your drug insurance for the upcoming year. We encourage everyone to check their drug plan each year. Every year, your drug insurance company will add drugs, stop covering certain drugs, raise their premiums, raise the deductible or change their co-pays. Plus, you may have added prescriptions or stopped taking others.

While you may be satisfied with your current coverage, it does not ensure the coverage will remain the same. A prescription that was provided for very little cost at the pharmacy may stop being covered, may go up in price or any other of a number of combination of changes.

We strongly encourage you to get an appointment to review your drug coverage. We can compare your current coverage to the coverage you will have after Jan. 1 with the same company. We will also compare to other plans to see if a better price is available. Sometimes we can save you a lot of money. Other times, you will find that sticking with your current drug insurance company is best.

Saturday: The pool room is open from 1 to 4 p.m.

Monday: Double pinochle, 12:30 p.m.; EnhanceFitness, 2 p.m.; strength training, 4 p.m.; duplicate bridge, 7 p.m.

Tuesday: Walking, 9 a.m. at Walmart; gentle exercise, 11 a.m.; pitch, 12:30 p.m.; bridge, 1:15 p.m.; yoga, 6 p.m.

Oct. 11: Line dancing, 8:30 a.m.; Completely Unraveled, 9:30 a.m.; pinochle, 12:30 p.m.; bridge, 1:15 p.m.; EnhanceFitness, 2 p.m.; dance featuring “Last Rezort,” 7:30 p.m. (recommended donation is $5).


Lunch menu

Lunch is served at noon.

Thursday: Chicken broccoli stir fry over rice, corn, tossed salad, orange.

Friday: Chicken spaghetti, peas, garlic toast, cookie.

Monday: Tater tot casserole, cauliflower, corn, muffin, orange.

Tuesday: Chicken fajitas with peppers and onions, Spanish rice, green beans, ice cream.

Oct. 11: Ham and potato casserole, mixed vegetables, garlic toast, cookie.
