Benefit yard sale: To benefit Tim Herrell, who has end-stage kidney disease, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Holcomb, 403 Emmanuel Drive. Proceeds will help cover non-medical costs of travel and lodging before and after his anticipated kidney transplant surgery.

“Aladdin Jr.”: Garden City Recreation Commission Junior Theater Program’s presentation at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. in Clifford Hope Auditorium at Horace Good Middle School, 1412 N. Main St. Tickets can be purchased from cast members or at the GCRC activity center, 310 N. Sixth St. Cost is $5 for age 10 and younger and $10 for age 11 and older.

Garden City Farmer’s Market: Featuring a variety of home-grown produce, home-crafted items and homemade foods, 7 a.m. to noon each Saturday through Sept. 30 in the parking lot of Westlake Hardware, 1210 Fleming St.

“Route 66” Wine Tasting: Garden City Area Chamber of Commerce’s 12th annual event, 7 to 10:30 p.m. at the Clarion Inn, 1911 E. Kansas Ave. Featuring 50 fine wines, hors d’oeuvres, desserts, “moonshine” samples, and scotch and cigars on the patio. Tickets are $55 and are available at Ewe Specialties & Perfect Occasions, 1008 W. Mary St.; Clarion Inn’s front desk; Chamber of Commerce, 1509 E. Fulton Terrace; and at www.gardencitychamber.net.
