The Hugoton Eagles and Ulysses Tigers each have qualified five wrestlers for this weekend's Class 4A state tournament in Salina.

The area wrestlers qualified this past weekend by finishing in the top four in their respective weight classes at the regional tournament in Mulvane.

Hugoton's Lawson Fiss (145 pounds) and Colten Lissolo (220) each won regional championships in helping the Eagles finish fourth in the final regional team standings. Fiss earned a 5-1 decision over Buhler's Scott Whitson in the championship final, and Lissolo pinned Pratt's Austin Gates at 0:30 of their championship match.

Ulysses' Razzy Morales (152) won an individual regional title to help the Tigers take sixth in the 15-team regional. He earned a 3-2 decision over Mulvane's Seth Sharpe in the championship match.

Andale, led by three individual regional champions, won the team title with 145 points, followed by Augusta with 128, host Mulvane with 126 and Hugoton with 110. Ulysses finished with 97 points.

Three other Hugoton wrestlers will be joining Fiss and Lissolo at this weekend's state tournament at the Salina Bicentennial Center, including third-place finisher Ty Haller (170) and fourth-place finishers Logan Livengood (120) and Patrick Weaver (152).

Four other Ulysses wrestlers will join Morales in Salina. They include regional runners-up Jason Perez (113), Armando Sandoval (182) and Michael Salas (195) and fourth-place finisher Steven Degollado (220).

Perez fell in the finals to Andale's Tyler Mies by a 4-1 decision, Sandoval lost a 1-0 decision in the final to Pratt's Kasey Crump and Rose Hill's Eastin Dockers pinned Ulysses' Salas at 3:22 of their championship match.
