Carlie Spiker of Syracuse and Bret Rooney of Satanta were married July 23, 2011, at The Inn at Hudson Gardens in Littleton, Colo. The Rev. R. Michael Lake officiated the 6 p.m., double-ring ceremony.

The bride's parents are Ruth and Terryl Spiker of Syracuse. Her grandparents are Katherine Hart and the late Dean Hart of Garden City; and JoAnn Spiker and the late Chester Spiker of Syracuse.

The groom is the son of Pat and Jeanette Rooney of Satanta. His grandparents are Judith Rooney and the late Archie Rooney of Satanta; and the late Jake and Mary Dechant of Garden City.

Maid of honor was Cheyenne George of Goodland. Matron of honor was Charity Medill of Lakin. Bridesmaids were Libby Lewis of Garden City; Jessica Fisher of Denver City, Texas; Amy Spiker of Chilhowie, Va.; and Susie McCracken of Ames, Iowa.

Best man was Les Wankel of Petersburg, Ill. Groomsmen were Drew Merz of Garden City; John Koons of Goodland; Randell Von Krosigk and Sheldon Barnhardt, both of Manhattan; and Colton Long of Amarillo, Texas.

Maggie Wankel of Petersburg was the flower girl. Ringbearers were Cameron and Gavin Wahl of Satanta.

Serving as ushers were Luke Spiker of Chilhowie; and Zach Lee of Garden City.

Scripture reader was Tera Rooney of Manhattan.

The ceremony was followed by a reception, given by the bride's parents, at The Inn at Hudson Gardens.

The bride graduated from Kansas State University in 2007 with a bachelor's degree in animal science and earned her master's degree in animal reproduction and physiology in 2009. She is manager of Gold Standard Labs in Garden City.

The groom graduated from Kansas State University in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in agronomy. He is a research associate with Pioneer Hi-Bred in Garden City.

After a wedding trip to Sandals Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica, the newlyweds are at home in Garden City.
