The Kansas Department of Transportation expects a field survey to begin today on Kansas Highway 96 through Scott City for a possible highway improvement.
The survey crew will gather information necessary for a detailed design of a proposed pavement reconstruction project.
Surveying will be conducted from the west city limits to the east city limits. Proposed improvements include replacing pavement and repairing or replacing curb, gutter and storm sewer as needed. KDOT only has funding for preliminary engineering on the project. No money has been identified under T-WORKS for construction. The survey should last about three months.
