The Garden City Wind, with a 5-2 victory Thursday night over the Great Bend Boom at Clint Lightner Stadium.
The victory improved their season record to 10-9 and moved them to within 2.5 games of Pecos League North Division leader Trinidad, Colo.
The Wind, who have won 7 of their last 10 games, have also won four straight games, their longest winning streak in their two seasons.
It was a start to finish lead for the Wind, as they scored one run in the first, two in the fourth and one each in the fifth and eighth innings.
Great Bend was limited to one run in the sixth and another single tally in the top of the ninth.
Left-handed pitcher Marty Anderson picked up the win, going 7 innings, giving up 7 hits, walking three and striking out 12.
Austin Hilton and Chris Gannon pitched one inning each in relief. DJ Sharabi took the loss for Great Bend, which fell to 8-9.
Eli Roundtree had the big offensive night for the Wind, getting a home run and double while driving in three runs. Joey Cecere and Clay Ardeeser added a pair of hits to the total of 9 base hits by the Wind.
The Wind will begin a three-day road trip to Topeka to play the Train Robbers, with the first game set for 7 p.m. Friday. They will wrap up the road excursion with 7 p.m. games on Saturday and Sunday.
