Angeles new utility specialist

Black Hills Energy recently announced that Salvador Angeles has joined the company in Garden City as a utility specialist technician.

Angeles' responsibilities will include gas and electric appliance repair through Service Guard, a Black Hills Energy affiliate. He also will perform heating and cooling repairs, annual inspections and natural gas service work for Black Hills Energy's customers in Garden City.

Angeles was previously employed with Tyson as a maintenance technician.

Blacks Hills honors Cornelius

Black Hills Energy employee Shane Cornelius, an operations technician in Wichita, has been recognized by the company for five years of service to the Wichita community. Significantly, Cornelius has had no chargeable vehicle accidents or lost time injuries in all those years of service.

Cornelius' responsibilities include the inspection of the natural gas distribution system, construction and maintenance projects and assisting with system operations and maintenance. Cornelius, who has family in the Garden City area, has made significant contributions to the Wichita operations by volunteering to head the local safety committee, as well as being involved with the Kansas Gas Employee Advisory Committee. In addition to his work at Black Hills Energy, Shane is a volunteer with United Way of the Plains.
