Chamber names 2013 board

The Garden City Area Chamber of Commerce recently announced results of its annual Board of Directors election.
Chamber President Reynaldo Mesa began the search in mid-September, asking for individual nominations from chamber members.
"The Chamber values and appreciates our membership and therefore a ballot was distributed to each and every chamber member asking them to complete the ballot and return it to our office," Mesa said. "This process engages our membership by involving and allowing them to have a voice in whom they deem will best represent their interests."
The 14-board members each serve a three-year term, to which they help guide and oversee the chamber's mission, operation and events.
"Serving at the pleasure of our membership," Mesa said, "they are asked to improve the quality of life, promote our existing businesses, aid in economic growth and development, maintain a friendly regulatory business environment, represent the business community on local and statewide issues and promote cooperation between the public and private sectors." Those newly elected to fill the three-year term were: Mark Nelson, American State Bank; Mark Hinde, Southwest Developmental Services, Inc.; Michelle Stegman, city of Garden City; Della Brandenburger, AmericInn Hotels; and Randy Partington, Finney County.
Individuals currently serving on the chamber board include: Debbie Reynolds (2013 board chairwoman), Southwind Country Club; Keith Collins (2014 chairman-elect), Advanced Merchant Services; Jennifer Dougherty, (vice chairwoman), Legacy Automotive Center; Deanna Mann (vice chairwoman), Garden City Community College; Keysha Urie (treasurer), Lewis, Hooper and Dick; Stephanie Bogner, MBA Real Estate; Todd Dauber, Garden City State Bank; Jarrod Stoppel, Garden City Public Schools; and Scott Miller, Farm Credit of Southwest Kansas.
Those retiring from the board on Dec. 31: Richard Taylor, Office Solutions, Inc., and Richard McNaught, Prudential Insurance.
