The Garden City Community College Business and Community Education Department is offering a number of courses for people who need continuing education credit in the trades of plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and related fields. In addition, courses for contractor licensing and construction site safety training will be offered.
The courses include:
* Plumbing, meeting Nov. 16, will provide six hours of code-related credit. Sections include methods of installation, piping, and sizing, offered 9 a.m.to noon at a cost of $99; and test prep general regulations, set for 1 to 4 p.m. at a cost of $99 per person,
* HVAC/Mechanical, also meeting Nov. 16, and providing six hours of code- related credit, will offer the following two sections: Illustrated Mechanical Code Violations from 9 a.m. to noon, with a fee of $99 per person; and Test prep Uniform Mechanical Code set for 1 to 4 p.m., with a cost of $99 per personto
* Contractor Licensing "B" Test Preparation is scheduled for Dec. 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The course will cover residential and commercial areas at a cost of $175 per person.
* OSHA 10-Hour Construction Outreach will be offered in English and Spanish for a fee of $99 per person. The English course is on Dec. 10, 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Dec. 11, 8 a.m. to noon. The Spanish class is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Dec. 17 and 18.
