Hutchinson - The Kansas State Fair Fine Arts Department is hosting a photography workshop Sat., March 15 from 1pm - 4 pm at the Morton Building (North of the big slide). The workshop will be casual, come and go format with professional photographers on hand to share valuable tips, review settings, lighting, lenses and more. Bring your camera, photos and questions. Free Admission and light refreshments will be served. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP to Nicole@kansasstatefair.com by March 6.

"Our amateur photography entries at the Kansas State Fair continue to grow. We thought it would be beneficial, to our competitive exhibitors, to conduct an informative workshop assisting them with their skills. This will also provide us the opportunity to inform attendees on how to enter the numerous competitive classes at the Fair," says Debbie Anderson, Competitive Exhibits Director.

New photography classes slated for the 2014 Fair include; Sports (no action- color); Festivals/Holidays (color); Weather/Skies/Sunrise/Sunset (color); Parades/Marching Bands/Rodeos (color); Signs/Streets/ Etc… (color); Candid Camera Humans (color); Animal Wildlife (color); Transportation - Planes, Trains, Automobiles, Bikes, Cycles, Boats (color); Strange Photos/Crazy and Cool (color); Unclassified/Abstract/Special Effects (color); Color Wheel Explosion-must feature one of these colors (radical red, hello yellow, outburst orange, powerful purple). On-line registration for these and other Kansas State Fair classes will be available June 1 at www.kansasstatefair.com
