An accident Thursday night at the intersection of Eighth Street and Kansas Avenue temporarily disabled traffic lights for about 30 minutes and resulted in a road closure that lasted nearly an hour.

Garden City police reported that a 2001 Chevy Tracker was northbound on Eighth Street at about 5:48 p.m. When it entered the intersection of Eighth and Kansas, a 1991 Chevy Pickup headed eastbound on Kansas struck the vehicle.

The Chevy Tracker rolled over on its side and struck a traffic utility box, temporarily disabling traffic lights at the intersection for half an hour. The intersection was closed for approximately one hour.

Neither of the drivers was injured in the accident, and both declined treatment.
