The Garden City Community College softball team was unable to follow its success of a doubleheader sweep against Butler on Friday with another Saturday.

With a change of venue, from Garden City to El Dorado, the Laqdy Broncbusters were swept by Butler 7-5 and 5-2.

In the opener, the Grizzlies jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the third. Garden City (20-10, 6-4) responded with two runs in the top of the fourth, but Butler tacked on two more in its half of the fourth.

Taylor Cange (8-7), who picked up wins in both games Friday, took the loss Saturday. She worked all six innings, giving up five runs on six hits. She walked four and struck out two.

Tracey Stefanski and Alex Wall had two hits apiece for Garden City and each had an RBI.

In the second game, Butler led 5-1 after two innings before the Busters scored two in the third. Garden City got within 6-5 in sixth, but the Grizzlies added one in their half of the sixth and the Busters failed to score in the seventh.

Alexa Harvey (12-3) took the loss for Garden City. She worked 5 2/3 innings, giving up seven runs on 10 hits. She allowed five walks and had just one strikeout.
