Lady Busters roll at Lamar

It wasn't the picture perfect game he wanted, but Garden City Community College head women's basketball Jake Ripple isn't going to complain about Tuesday nights 81-67 win at Lamar (Colo.) Community College.
"We really played well in spurts," Ripple said. "At times we didn't do things very well, but there were times we really got things going."
On a night six Lady Broncbusters scored in double-figures, little could have gone wrong for them.
Facing a team that will run a five guard line-up at times, Garden City (4-7) was able to match Lamar's speed, and were able score consistently attacking the basket.
The Busters were led by 6-foot-2 freshman Janell Durler's 14 points. She was followed by Amelia Jones, Whitnie Young, Amber Brown, Trista Schmitt and LaTaish Brown in double-figures.
"We knew we had to look up and down for scoring," Ripple said. "We needed someone to step up, and I thought the kids did a pretty nice job of doing that."
The Lady Broncbusters will play their first game in the Jayhawk Conference Shootout on Friday in Coffeyville at 7 p.m. against Johnson County Community College.
