Acorn Club
The Acorn Club met Nov. 3 for a salad luncheon at the home of Sue Swords. Pat Smith, vice president, called the following meeting to order in the absence of Leah Martinek, president.
The "Collect" was repeated by all, followed by the club song "The Old Oak Tree." Roll call was answered by telling of someone in the family who was serving in the military or who had served.
Minutes of the last meeting were read by Orvillene Williams, secretary. She will be the hostess of the Nov. 17 meeting.
Senior Center pinochle
Charles Maxfield won high in the three tables of Senior Center pinochle played Wednesday. Ruth Romesburg was second, while Bob Hensley placed third.
Finney Flyers 4-H
The Finney Flyers 4-H Club met Nov. 2, with members answering roll call by saying what they like the most about Thanksgiving. Joshua Irsik led the¬ flag salute.
Members discussed the exchange meeting with the Kourageous¬ Kids, which will take place at the next meeting, Dec. 14. They also voted to participate in the Giving Tree and send stockings to our soldiers for Christmas.
Joshua Irsik gave a talk about his photography project.
Genealogical society
The Finney County Genealogical Society will meet from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the Hutchinson Room at the Finney County Public Library, 605 E. Walnut.
This will be a research day so bring your questions.
Visitors are welcome.
Senior Center bridge
Edna Tilson won high in the three tables of Senior Center bridge played Friday. Second place went to Bob Hensley. Donna Morris was third.
