Gary and Kelly Gillespie of Copeland announce the engagement of their son, Travis Gillespie, to Kristin Racine, the daughter of Lenny and Jan Racine of Spring Valley, Ill.

Travis is a 2001 graduate of South Gray High School. He received a bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University in 2005 and plans to graduate from the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Dentistry in May 2009 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.

Kristin is a 2001 graduate of St. Bede Academy, Peru, Ill. She received a bachelor’s degree from Benedictine University, Lisle, Ill., in 2005 and a doctorate of physical therapy from Rockhurst University, Kansas City, Mo., in May 2008. She is employed at Elite Sports Medicine & Physical Therapy in Kansas City, Mo.

A March 14, 2009, wedding ceremony and reception is planned in LaSalle, Ill., and a reception in Copeland on May 23, 2009.
