Mark and Mary Davis, of Muldrow, Okla., announce the engagement of their daughter, Rachel Davis, to Brad Yaple, the son of Patti and Jim Allen of Garden City.

The bride-to-be earned an associate's degree in pre-journalism¬ from Carl Albert State College, Poteau, Okla., in 2002 and a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Oklahoma in 2004. She is the law enforcement and courts reporter for The Garden City Telegram.

Her fiancé earned a bachelor's degree in agriculture with a minor in animal science and industry from Kansas State University in 1993. He is an electrician for Davis Electric.

The wedding is planned for Sept. 6, 2008, at The Enchanted Wedding Chapel at Fort Chaffee in Fort Smith, Ark.
