Sewell

Jarrel and Shirley Sewell, former residents of southwest Kansas, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 22, 2008.

They were married in New Mexico on Sept. 22, 1958, and have three children, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Jarrel is the son of the late Frank and Billie Sewell of Moscow. Shirley is the daughter of the late Kenneth and Hazel Wilson of Liberal.

Jarrel and Shirley raised their children, Mike, Brent and Lynn Sewell, in Moscow. Their son, Brent, was killed in a motorcycle accident April 12, 1977, at the age of 16. In 1980, they moved from Moscow to Liberal and lived there until moving to Dimmitt, Texas, in 1985. In 2002, they moved to Houston upon Jarrel's retirement from Cargill Inc.
