Violet B. Ward
MOSCOW -- Violet B. Ward, 96, of Moscow, died Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Hugoton, where she had been a resident.
She was born Sept. 20, 1911, in Offerle, to Jesse and Bertha Miller Ward. She graduated from Moscow High School.
Miss Ward had worked as an X-ray technician, retiring in Chicago and then moving back to Moscow. She was a member of the United Methodist Church at Moscow.
Survivors include a brother, William Ward of California; two sisters, Viola Holmberg Rau, her twin sister from Minnesota, and Hazel Miller of Moscow; and several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Newton Ward; a niece, Karen Wilson; and an infant niece, Patrica Ann Miller.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church, Moscow, with the Rev. Timothy McCrary officiating. Burial will be in Moscow Cemetery.
Visitation hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and Thursday at Paul's Funeral Home, Hugoton. Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church of Moscow, in care of the funeral home, Box 236, Hugoton, KS 67951.
