ULYSSES -- Linna Snyder Shore, 75, died Monday, April 28, 2008, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses.

She was born April 13, 1933, in Topeka, to Carl Penn and Cressie Coverdale Snyder. She graduated from Topeka High School and Kansas State University with an education degree.

Mrs. Shore was a substitute teacher for Ulysses schools. She was a member of AAUW, Daughters of the American Revolution, Order of the Eastern Star, Sweet Adeline's, P.E.O. and the First United Methodist Church of Ulysses and served on the library board. She enjoyed reading, needlework and assisting at the swim meets.

On May 29, 1954, she married Lee Shore in Topeka. He died Feb. 24, 1996. She also was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Martha Shore and Susan Hemphill; and a brother, Allen Snyder.

Survivors include a son, Jay Shore of Wichita, and three grandchildren.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church, Ulysses, with the Rev. Dennis H. Livingston officiating. Burial will follow at Ulysses Cemetery, with Eastern Star No. 471 performing burial rites.

Visitation hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Garnand Funeral Home, Ulysses, with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church, in care of the funeral home, 405 W. Grant Ave., Ulysses, KS 67880.
