SYRACUSE -- Rose Eileen Bennett, 78, died Monday, March 24, 2008, at Seasons Of Life Living Center in Syracuse.
She was born May 7, 1929, in McCracken, to James and Milla Wilson Crotinger. In 1932, the family moved from McCracken to Syracuse, where she graduated from Syracuse High School in 1947.
On Nov. 16, 1947, she married Max L. Bennett in Syracuse. He survives.
Mrs. Bennett worked in the Post Office in the 1980s and later was a daycare provider for eight years before retiring in August 1996. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, a former member of Rebekah Lodge and had served as a 4-H leader. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, sewing and cooking.
In addition to her husband, survivors include a sister, Emma Mae Helmle of Johnson City; 14 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Patricia M. Bennett Knipp and Dorothy J. Bennett Munyan; three sons, Daniel Lee, Max L. Jr., and David Lynn Bennett; four brothers, William, Allen, Albert and George R. Crotinger; and three sisters, Marie Miller, Ina Jane Standish and Ruth Glenn.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. MDT Friday at the First United Methodist Church, Syracuse. Burial will follow at Syracuse Cemetery.
Visitation hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. MDT Thursday at Fellers Funeral Home & Monuments, Syracuse. Condolences may be sent at fellersfh@yahoo.com.
