Wade L. Doty

HOLCOMB — Wade L. Doty, 46, of Holcomb, died Thursday, June 25, 2009, at Homestead Health and Rehabilitation Center in Garden City.

He was born Aug. 2, 1962, in Tribune, to Rex and Patsy Allen Doty. When he was young, the family moved to Garden City and he attended Garden City schools.

Mr. Doty lived in Wichita for a short time before returning to Garden City. He had lived in Garden City and in Holcomb, working as a farmer and welder, at IBP for 13 years and at Dale's Furniture for several years. He enjoyed working with cattle, working on cars, music, computers and loved to spend time with his children.

Survivors include two daughters, Cheyenne L. Doty of Lake George, Colo., and Macie Rae Doty of Garden City; his mother, Patsy Alexshonis of St. Robert, Mo.; three sisters, Joyce Martinez and Tracey Kasiska, both of Holcomb, and Valerie L. Jordan of Garden City; and several nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father and his stepfather, Joseph Alexshonis.

A celebration of life service will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City, officiated by Terry R. Major, pastor. Burial will take place at a later date at Greeley County Cemetery in Tribune.

There will be no visitation. Condolences may be sent at garnandfh@sbcglobal.net. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or American Cancer Society, both in care of the funeral home, 412 N. Seventh St., Garden City, KS 67846.
