Taryn Kay Dechant

Taryn Kay Dechant, 22, died Friday, Sept. 26, 2008, at her home in Salina.

She was born March 28, 1986, in Ness City, to Michelle Dechant and Thomas McDougall. She was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, Garden City.

Survivors include her parents, Michelle Lumley of Ness City, and Thomas McDougall of West Fargo, N.D.; two sons, Darian Negron of the home, and Gunnar Stephens of Hoxie; a daughter, Destiny Weber of the home; a sister, Sarah Dechant of Garden City; and her grandparents, Marvin and Clara Dechant of Ness City. She was preceded in death by her father, John Lumley; and her fiancé, Ernest Jones.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 207 N. Pennsylvania in Ness City.

Visitation hours are 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to noon Friday at the funeral home. Memorials to the Taryn Dechant Memorial Fund may be sent in care of the funeral home, Box 96, Ness City, KS 67560.
