Cody Scott Koehn

MONTEZUMA -- Cody Scott Koehn, 14, of Montezuma, died Thursday, May 29, 2008, from injuries suffered in an accident while riding a horse.

He was born Feb. 9, 1994, in Dodge City, to Doyle L. and Judy K. Nickel Koehn.

A lifetime resident of Montezuma, Cody worked on the family farm. He attended Homeland Mennonite Church in Montezuma.

In addition to his parents, survivors include two brothers, Keenan and Tyler, and a sister, Cassie, all of the home; his grandparents, Dewayne and Betty Nickel of Montezuma, and Merle and Delores Koehn of Montezuma; his great-grandparents, Frances Koehn, Marjorie Dirks and Susie Nickel, all of Montezuma; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Collin Koehn, four great-grandfathers and a great-grandmother.

Funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Homeland Mennonite Church, Montezuma, officiated by Donnie Koehn, Lyndon Toews and Robert Schmidt, ministers. Burial will be in Homeland Cemetery, Montezuma.

Visitation hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Montezuma Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Homeland Christian School in Montezuma, in care of the funeral home, Box 421, Montezuma, KS 67867.
